This message has been cross posted to the following eGroups: Whistleblower Compliance and Multi-Industry Chief Compliance Ethics Officer Network . ------------------------------------------- Follow on to our discussion on the Dodd Frank whistleblower webcast, Lee Essrig has sent the link to the New England Journal of Medicine whistleblower study http://www.whistleblowers.org/storage/whistleblowers/documents/DoddFrank/newenglandjournalmedicine.pdf It's from 2010 but worth noting some of the very interesting detail such as Table 2 which drilled down to why people came forward: 1) self-preservation 2) justice 3) integrity 4) altruism/public safety - which is consistent with other findings that people list the most common reason as "outrage" and not financial rewards. Since I haven't seen a study with this much detail on motivation, I thought this was worth sharing. ------------------------------------------- DonnaBoehme Principal Compliance Strategists LLC New ProvidenceNJ -------------------------------------------
